Newton County Judge Paul Price is asking for a disaster declaration for recovery from this
week’s storms. The declaration allows the county to apply for financial assistance from the
state. In another weather related story, the Fellowship Baptist Church in Nederland sustained
extensive storm damage. Rain and hail broke out a window causing water damage and part
of a roof collapsed at the church.
