Kirbyville police has issued a press release surrounding the apparent suicide of Kirbyville High
School Principal Dennis Reeves. According to the release, Superintendent Tommy Wallis and
Assistant Superintendent Georgia Sayers met with Reeves about an alleged affair he was having
with a secretary in the school district. During the meeting, Reeves was told he would be placed
on administrative leave during the investigation following a complaint from the secretary.
Reeves was then told if the allegation was true he would be terminated. Reeves then
submitted a letter of resignation. A short time later he was found dead in his pickup in the
parking lot of the high school from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound
