FEMA representatives are in southeast Texas meeting with citizens. Ken Higginbotham, with
FEMA, says it’s a qualification process. You can register online at disasterassistance.gov, or by
calling 1-800-621-FEMA. FEMA representatives will be over the next couple of days at the
Bridge City Community Center from 9:00 to 6:00 to assist. In another FEMA note, they have
denied Jefferson County disaster housing assistance. They decided there are not enough places
for people to live while recovering from Tropical Storm Harvey. Thousands to people in
Jefferson County have been displaced due to floodwaters and potential mold in their homes.
