COVID-19 Update: Thursday 4/23/20

+There are now 405 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the six Southeast Texas county area. 228 cases have been reported in Jefferson County, 91in Hardin County, 63 in Orange County,14 in Jasper County, 6 in Tyler County, and 2 in Newton County. There have been 16 Coronoavirus related deaths.

+The city of Beaumont has reported 160 positive COVID-19 cases. There are 167 in the Beaumont jurisdiction, which includes Fannett, Cheek, China, and Nome. Of those testing positive, 79 are males and 88 are females. 61 of the positive cases are residents between the ages of 51 and 70. There have been 3 positive cases of children under 10. There have been 9 death related COVID-19 cases in Beaumont.

+The Southeast Texas Call Center is in operation daily between the hours of 8:00 am-8:00pm... Remember, you must call 409-550-2536 to be screened before you can be tested at one of the two testing sites in Southeast Texas. There have been 4,946 calls to the center since it began operation on March 20th. 2,710 people have been tested at one of the two testing sites in Southeast Texas.

+The pandemic related curfew in Chambers County is no longer in effect. The overnight curfew was put in place a month ago when County Judge Jimmy Sylvia declared local disaster. The curfew was lifted yesterday, effective immediately.
