The DPS reports a person was killed this morning following an auto/pedestrian accident near
Port Arthur. The victim was in the westbound lane of Highway 87 and was struck by a car.
The name of the victim,who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been released. The
driver of the car, 24-year old Orrin Landers of Orange, was not hurt.
