The DPS has released the names of two men that were killed on I-10 west of Beaumont
yesterday. 37-year old Sarfaraz Karowaida and 42-year old Altaf Kasowadia, both of
Freindswood, were heading west near Smith Road when a crane malfunctioned and fell onto
their pickup. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into what caused the
crane to malfunction is underway.
