A Liberty County man is accused of dragging a man with the victim's pickup truck and then
setting the truck on fire. Deputies arrested 37-year-old Robert Hoffpauir on Sunday on a charge
of murder. Investigators say Hoffpauir and 60-year-old Roman Rodriguez got into a fight at the
home of Hoffpauir's mother over a former relationship between her and Rodriguez. Hoffpauir
reportedly beat Rodriguez, attached him to his own pickup truck with a tow strap, and dragged
him down the highway. Hoffpauir reportedly set the truck on fire in the eastern part of the
county. He's jailed on a million dollar bond.
