Beaumont Man Sentenced For Possessing Firearms

A 40-year old Beaumont man has been sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for

being a felon in possession of firearms. Benjamin Bernard Garrett was arrested this past

September following a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle revealed two hand guns. Garrett,

a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was sentenced to 27 months

yesterday.
