Beaumont police have released the name of a man that committed crimes in Beaumont and the
was shot by police in Lufkin a few hours later. 35-year old Jamelle Yantoine, of Amarillo, is accused
of a carjacking in Beaumont and two robberies, including driving the stolen vehicle into Parkdale Mall.
He then traveled to Lufkin committing robberies and threatening the lives of employees. He was shot as
he drove his vehicle towards a Lufkin police officer. Yantoine, was listed in stable condition.
