Entergy-Texas has completed an infrastructure project to better service in parts of Port Arthur. 240 old
poles were replaced along with aging power lines, and improvements to the overall electrical system.
Upgrades were made in the downtown district, Proctor Street, Houston Street, and Lakefront Drive near
Lamar State College-Port Arthur. The cost was under $5 million, below the projected cost of $7.5 million.
