Greek researchers say they's found that drinking beer makes blood vessels more flexible and increased blood flow to the heart. To find this, researchers from Harokopio University in Athens recruited 17 health male participants and had them drink various amounts of beer, vodka, or non-alcoholic beer on three separate occasions with at least a week between each occasion. The men all had their pulse and other cardiac levels assessed over the course of the experiment. Researchers found that cardiac levels were best after the men drank beer, and researchers say the results indicate the alcohol and antioxidents in beer might be beneficial to heart function.
