'JUMANJI' POISED TO BE DWAYNE JOHNSON'S HIGHEST-GROSSING PIC EVER (02/05/2018)
Total weekend sales over Super Bowl weekend were a sluggish $92 million, Deadline reports. While that’s low, it’s not a record (that was set four years ago with $86 million, the lowest in 12 years).
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle won the box office with $11.1 million, a running total of $352.7 million, just a hair’s breadth away from besting Dwayne Johnson’s Furious 7, which raked in $353 million and currently crowns Johnson’s box office record.
It’s the fourth No. 1 weekend for the Jake Kasdan-helmed film.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure came in second with $10.2 million, down 58% since opening weekend, for a total take of $39.7 million.
