He had me from “go”. When I saw my mother, a devout Catholic watch him every time he appeared on his television tours I had to watch. It made no difference what your belief, the Most Reverend Billy Graham had you. From Vancouver to Ville Platte, they came. They came out of the grandstands to the altar and were saved. The music got you. But the reason it did was because of him. The look, the voice, the passion and the fact you knew …..he knew. He’s been called many wonderful things, most often the Reverend Billy Graham. It’s all you had to hear. You knew he was for real. President’s knew it. the poor knew it. We all knew it. He was in our minds, the one who got us a litter closer to God. I always dropped a tear when I heard him call us home. I did again this morning and had to measure every word as I broke the news. We know he’s human but for some reason never thought the day would come his 99 plus years of homage and service to the one in charge. His pension is the home in heaven he promised us all. There won’t and I repeat WON’T be another like him. He signed us up for the many rooms that have been promised every believer. The most wonderful part of listening to him today will be that we will hear him tomorrow and all days in the future. Now he’s playing for an even larger audience. Thank you, sir. Thank you for just being able to bring to us the great lesson that we all so loved and will continue to learn from. The teacher has made the student so much the better.
