A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Port Arthur man for murder. 39-year old Raul
Aguilar Trejo is charged with the January 26th murder of Jonah Jarrett Rivera, who was shot
at his home in the 7500 block of 4th Street in Sabine Pass. Trejo was arrested a few days later
when he tried to cash a check that did not belong to him. He has been indicted with forgery for
that incident.
A 27-year old Beaumont man has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury on a charge of
attempted sexual assault. On February 18th, Walter Wilson Lomax is accused of following a
cleaning lady inside a room at the Courtyard Marriott in Beaumont. He forced her into a bathtub
and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to scream for help from her radio and
flee from the room. Lomax, who fled from the room before police arrived, was arrested nearby
as he was walking on the I-10 frontage road.
