A Beaumont woman that pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter has been sentenced
to 15-years in prison. 26-year old Susana Monjaraz Ortiz was driving her car northbound on the
Eastex Freeway access road this past June when she lost control and hit a tree. A passenger in
her car, Carlos Delatorre, died from injuries in the wreck. Ortiz, who was sentenced today,
had a blood alcohol limit of more than three times the legal limit
