A Beaumont man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for online solicitation of a minor. In
October of last year, Kirt Vavasseur contacted what he thought was a 14 year old girl, when he
was actually talking online with an undercover member of a task force. The 32-year old
Vavasseur said he was 16 and sent explicit photos of himself to what he thought was the 14-
year old. He was arrested a month later after setting up a meeting with the 14-year old at a
store in Fannett. Vavasseur was also sentenced to 10 years on three other charges of online
solicitation related to the same investigation. That sentence will run concurrently to the 15 year
sentence.
