The person responsible for a string of bombings in Austin over nearly three weeks is reportedly dead. Local reports said the bomber blew himself up in a shootout with police in the suburb of Round Rock around 3 a.m. local time. That potential end to the bombing spree came after investigators dealt with two more bombs yesterday, one in a package that exploded at a FedEx shippingcenter near San Antonio early in the morning that injured one person, and another in a package that was found before it blew up. The bomb that exploded had been sent from Austin and was addressed to another home in the Texas capital. The second device was discovered when police sent a bomb squad to a FedEx facility outside the Austin airport to check on a suspicious package. There had been two people killed and four people wounded in the four previous bombings over three weeks before yesterday. Three were package bombs left outside victims' homes, and the most recent was set off by a tripwire on a street.
