The DPS is reminding citizens about the state’s “Move Over/Slow Down” law. The law
requires motorists to move over to the left lane or slow down when they see a law enforcement
vehicle or Tex-Dot on the shoulder of the highway or interstate. Today, from 7:00 to 11:00 and
from 5:00 to 8:00, operations will be set up in Jefferson County to ensure motorists are obeying
the law. If you are unable to move over, you must slow down to 20 mph below the posted speed
limit.
