A man accused of choking his girlfriend is jailed following a five hour standoff with Beaumont
police. 39-year old William Jones, of Beaumont, barricaded himself inside the home in the
2400 block of Bolivar and refused to come out. His girlfriend and two children were able
to escape the home. After a five hour standoff with SWAT, Jones exited the house and was
taken into custody. He is charged with family violence assault and interfering with a 911 call.
Jones also had a Jefferson County warrant for evading and a parole violation for two counts
of burglary.
