(Houston, TX) -- Forecasters are saying the 2018 hurricane season will be a bit busier than usual. In its first forecast, released Thursday, Colorado State University's Atmospheric Science Department said they expect a "slightly above average" level of storm activity this year. A total of 14 storms are forecast, of which seven are expected to become hurricanes. Three of those are forecast to become major hurricanes of Category Three or higher. Hurricane season starts on June 1st and ends on November 30th.
