Gas prices continue to move upward. This morning’s average price in the Beaumont/Port
Arthur area is $2.63 a gallon, which is up seven cents from last week. A year ago on this
date, we were paying $2.12 a gallon. This morning’s statewide average is $2.71 a gallon,
which is up seven cents. The national average for a gallon of gas is up six cents to $2.91.
