A man is jailed accused of breaking into a pickup in the 1500 block of South China Road
in Jefferson County yesterday and stealing several items, including a .45 caliber handgun,
a ballistic vest, and a Harris County law enforcement agency badge. He also stole a 2014
green Polaris Ranger side by side. Security video help identify the man. A few hours later,
Jefferson County Fugitive Warrant Deputy spotted the suspect near the intersection of
East Lucas and Pittsburgh in Beaumont. He was in possession of the stolen handgun and
badge. 41-year old Robert Joseph Alderson, a transient, was transported to the Jefferson
County Correctional Facility. Detectives are still searching for the stolen ballistic vest
and Polaris.
