A 46-year old Beaumont man is jailed in connection with the robbery of the Jack in the
Box, located in the 7300 block of Highway 105. Police say Derek Scott Marshall entered
the restaurant just before 2:00 this morning and pointed a handgun at two female employees
demanding their cell phones and cash from the safe. The employees were unable to have
access to the safe without a manager. Marshall then took additional items from the clerks
and fled on foot. He was located a short time later. Marshall was in possession of a handgun
and stolen items. He is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, evading, and being
a felon in possession of a firearm. He also had a warrant for Class B theft.
