Lamar University’s Department of Geology will soon add a remote-sensing program using
state-of-art drone technology thanks to a $500,000 gift from former Texaco plant supervisor
Ed Hogenson of Port Neches. The donation is in honor of his son, Bill Hogenson a Lamar
University graduate. Hogenson also contributed $500,000 to Lamar State College-Port Arthur
in honor of his daughter, Debbie Spittler who graduated from the college.
