The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accidental shooting of a 12-year old
boy. He was shot in the arm Monday night by his stepfather in the area of Highway 90 and
Highway 326 in Nome. The two were in the area to view a meteor shower. The man told
deputies he thought he heard a wild animal running up on him, he turned and fired his gun
striking the 12-year old. CPS has been notified.
