A Honduran national has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for a Hardin
County shooting. In November of last year, 42-year old Santos Alfredo Paz-Ruiz was
confronted by an off-duty law enforcement officer for driving erratically. Paz-Ruiz pulled
a gun and fired a shot. Paz-Ruiz was tackled by the officer’s son and during a struggle the
officer’s son was shot in the ankle. Yesterday, Paz-Ruiz was sentenced to 33 months in
federal prison.
