A Beaumont man has been sentenced to a year in jail for cruelty to animals. In May of 2014,
Beaumont Animal Services went to a home in the 4300 Chaison and found one deceased dog
and several severely undernourished dogs. The owner of the dogs, Joshua Jerome Booker, had
left the dogs in a garage without food and water for approximately one week. Booker, who
pleaded guilty to the charges, was sentenced yesterday.
