A man accused of punching two Beaumont police officers while be arrested has been
indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury on two counts of assault of a peace officer.
60-year old Lester Thomas, of Beaumont, confronted the officers as they were arresting
him this past June at the bus transfer station on Liberty Street. Thomas had a criminal
trespass warrant.
