A Beaumont man has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury for assaulting a peace
officer and attempting to take a weapon from an officer. On June 19th, police received a call
of a man waving a knife near 23rd and Laurel. The suspect, 37-year old Travis Sental Hinkston,
was located in the 100 block of Rosine. According to the police report, as the officer was
attempting to take Hinkston into custody, Hinkston fought him and attempted to take his gun.
