An update on Tuesday’s fatality in Jasper County. The DPS reports a northbound commercial
vehicle was traveling north on Highway 69, near Kirbyville, when the driver pulled onto the
shoulder of the highway. The driver attempted to turn across the highway and pulled in front of
an oncoming car. The driver of the car, 35-year old Joshua Dennis of Kirbyville, hit the truck
and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, 61-year old Gary Willis of Jasper,
was not hurt.
