A Beaumont man convicted for the death of a 16-year old Vidor girl has been sentenced to
80 years in prison. 36-year old Kelvin Roy caused the death of Alexandria Bertrand in 2014.
It was determined Roy deliberately crashed his vehicle into a van Bertrand was a passenger in
on Main Street in Vidor. Roy will have to serve at least half of the sentence before he becomes
eligible for parole. It was his second conviction in the case. The first conviction, in which he
was sentenced to 75 years, was overturned.
