Biologists from Tel Aviv University found when they played recordings of flying bees to evening primrose flowers, the sugar concentration in the nectar of the flowers increased an average of 20 percent within three minutes. They say this entices the bees to visit more often, and increases the chance of the plant's pollen being distributed. This is reported to be the first evidence that plants can respond to sounds in "an ecologically relevant way," according to the website BioRxiv.(Daily Mail)
