The DPS has released the name of a man that was killed in a wreck on I-10 in Orange
County Monday night. 24-year old Nicholas Alan Blanchette, of Beaumont, was stalled
in the eastbound lane, near FM 1136, when his vehicle was struck from behind by an 18-
wheeler. The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire. Blanchette was pronounced dead at
the scene. The wreck forced the interstate to be closed for nearly nine hours.
