A man is facing numerous charges in Hardin County. Deputies responded to a domestic
violence call yesterday morning at a home on Atlantic Road near Sour Lake. A sexual
assault had allegedly occurred at the home. The suspect attempted to run over a deputy with a
vehicle. The suspect went back and tried to break into the home, where he had a protective order,
with a woman and four children inside. Deputies fired shots striking the suspect, who was
transported to the hospital for treatment. A 4-year old was struck in the leg by the gunfire.
Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis has asked for the Texas Rangers to assist in the investigation,
which is standard procedure.
