A man that was shot by Hardin County deputies this past weekend has been charged with
attempted capital murder of a peace officer, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, and
violation of a protective order. 27-year old Michael Terrell McCray, of Sour Lake, remains
hospitalized for treatment. McCray was involved in a domestic disturbance at a home in
Atlantic Road, near Sour Lake. During the ordeal he attempted to run over a deputy with
his vehicle. He then returned to the home, where there was a protective order against him,
and try to break-in where there was a woman and children. At that time he was shot. A 4-
year old girl was shot in the leg during the situation.
