The Orange County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert citizens about a phone scam. Citizens have
been receiving calls from individuals claiming they are Lt. Jacobs with the sheriff’s office. The
scammer is telling citizens they have warrants or have failed to appear for jury duty and must
meet with the Lt. and make payments to avoid arrest. This is a scam. Do not meet anyone in
person or provide payment over the phone. If you receive a call, contact the Orange County
Sheriff’s Office.
