A Jefferson County jury has convicted and sentenced a Beaumont man for murder. Calvin
Holman was sentenced to 17 years and fined $10,000 for the December 2016 shooting
death of 63-year old Raymond Weatherly in west Beaumont. Holman, who could of faced
up to life in prison, claimed self-defense in the shooting. The case was heard in Judge
Rachel West’s courtroom.
