The DPS reports a child involved in an Orange County wreck last night has died. The 11-year
old boy was a passenger in a car driven by his mother, 39-year old Tabitha Butler of Vidor. The
car turned off of FM 105 onto Lakeview Cutoff into the path of an oncoming pickup. The driver of
the pickup, 41-year old Ricky Brashier of Vidor was suffered serious injuries. The 11-year old
was transported to the hospital where he died. Tabitha Butler’s injuries were not life threatening.
The DPS is investigating the fatality.
