There will be two runoffs from Saturday’s election. In Port Arthur, Mayor Derrick Freeman is
in a runoff with former Justice of the Peace Thurman Bartie. Freeman picked up 35% of the vote,
while Bartie picked up 25% in the five person race. Beaumont Ward 1 Councilwoman Virginia
Jordan is in a runoff with Taylor Neild. In Nederland, voters passed both propositions for school
bonds. In Bridge City, voters said no to a school bond.
