Texas Eighth Grader Wins National Geographic Bee

Texas eighth-grader Nihar Janga won the 31st annual National Geographic GeoBee yesterday (May 22nd), coming out on top in the test of knowledge of geography against fourth- through eighth-graders from across the country. Janga was a top 10 finalist in the GeoBee last year, and was also a co-champion of the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee. For winning the GeoBee, he'll get a $25,000 college scholarship and an expedition to the Galapagos Islands
