The search is underway for a man that attacked a Sour Lake police officer last night. The officer
responded to a convenience store at Highway 105 & Highway 326 about a suspicious person in
the store. The suspect shoved the officer’s head into a wall causing severe head trauma. The
officer was airliftedChristus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The suspect fled in the officers
patrol unit. The car was found on Highway 326, about six miles north of Kountze. Officers from
several agencies were searching a wooded area for the suspect.
