The Jefferson County grand jury indicted 81 cases this week. Among the indictments, 54-year
old Joseph Chavis, of Beaumont, is charged with promoting prostitution. It involved several
womenfrom April of last year through early this year. Chavis was arrested following multiple
undercover operations by Beaumont police.
