Gas prices continue to drop. This morning’s average price for a gallon in the Beaumont/Port
Arthur area is $2.44, which is down six cents from last week. A year ago on this date we
were paying $2.68 a gallon. This morning’s statewide average is down seven cents to $2.50
a gallon. The national average is down a nickel to $2.77 a gallon. These averages are
compiled daily by Triple A Texas.
