Jefferson County has issued a beach advisory for McFadden Beach. Water samples collected
yesterday found elevated levels of the Enterococcus bacteria. The levels exceeded the 104
colonies considered to be unsafe. Lamar University will continue to test and monitor the water
and based upon their results, further advisories will be issued as necessary.
