ExxonMobil has started production on an expansion project at its facility on Highway 90
in Beaumont. The polyethylene line will increase plant production by 65% or 650,000 tons
per year. This will bring the capacity to nearly 1.7 million tons per year. The project created
2,000 during the peak of construction and currently supports approximately 40 permanent jobs.
Operations are expected to increase regional economic activity by $20 billion in the first 13
years.
