United States Senator John Cornyn has announced Beaumont will receive $9 million in federal
grant money for Harvey recovery. The Port of Beaumont Navigation District will receive just
over $1 million for shoreline repairs and Tex-Dot will receive just under $8 million to be used
for debris removal. The funding is through the Robert T Stafford Act, which allows the federal
government authority to assist in local disasters.
