The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted four people for murder. 21-year old Martin
Pettway Jr. of Groves, 20-year old Xavier Parrish of Groves, 20-year old Nayah Mayfield of
Port Arthur, and 19-year old Taylor Jones of Port Arthur are all charged with the August
17th shooting death of Jessie Rodriguez of Beaumont. An incident started at CiCi’s Pizza
on Eastex Freeway and ended when Rodriguez was shot and killed in his car on Dowlen
Road under the Eastex Freeway overpass.
