A Groves woman has been indicted on three counts of injury to a child. 22-year old Karla
Camil Ortiz is accused of injuring her 5-month old daughter. The child suffered from brain
bleed, a fracture to the back of the skull, and had skin discoloration. This is a case of “Shaken
Baby Syndrome”. Police were called to the home in the 3100 block of Lay Avenue in Groves
last month.
