Rough weekend at the box office. The sixth Terminator film, Dark Fate, met a grim fate at the box office over the weekend, snagging just over $27 million, a relative bomb for the Paramount/Skydance Media/Fox tentpole with a reported $185-$196 million budget. Break-even for Dark Fate, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamiltion, is a reported $470 million, according to Deadline.
Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Edward Norton’s Motherless Brooklyn also opened this weekend. The Irishman, a Netflix production, is receiving a small theatrical release in eight New York and LA locations, with an unreported gross, while Motherless went wide and netted just $3 million.
