Initial reports of another tower falling at the TPC plant in Port Neches yesterday turned out
to be the settling of impacted equipment. All remaining towers have been accounted for.
Beginning today, the TPC Group is providing an emotional support hotline staffed by licensed
professional counselors . Citizens can call 409-727-6400 daily between 9:00 – 6:00. All calls
will remain confidential.
TPC is being hit with at least five lawsuits after the explosions and fire. The disaster led to the
evacuation of thousands of people who live near the plant. Several dozen of them have brought
a class-action suit against TPC. Temporary restraining orders were granted yesterday in
Jefferson County and in Harris County, where TPC is headquartered. The orders require the
company to preserve all evidence related to the fire.
